The Brief

An international recycling company approached us to explain its state-wide recycling process from start to finish: garbage trucks, recycling centres, shops, people, and traffic, all as one connected system rather than a series of disconnected diagrams.

Our Approach

The client provided the graphics, and we built the city as an interactive 2D animation in Construct 2, with information points placed at each stop along the recycling journey so a viewer could click through and understand what actually happens at a garbage truck, a sorting centre, or a shopfront, rather than reading it off a static infographic. We ran the project with an agile approach: weekly iterative builds shared with the client for feedback, so the scope and detail of each stop could be adjusted as the picture of the full system came together, rather than locking in a fixed spec upfront and finding out what was missing at delivery.

The Outcome

The result is one of our larger Construct projects to date: a full interactive city scene that walks a viewer through an entire state's recycling process, stop by stop, rather than summarising it in a single graphic.

This project is a good fit for our interactive HTML5 content work: browser-based explainers where the user needs to explore a process instead of reading a static diagram.
