A useful simulation gives the learner a decision to make, shows the consequence, and records enough information for instructors or managers to understand progress. That can be more valuable than another slide deck when the task involves risk, judgement, spatial reasoning, or repeated practice.

Case Study: Hubub, a Virtual Campus for an Australian University

Hubub is a multiplayer virtual campus built for an Australian university: a persistent Unity environment where students and staff move around and talk to each other over integrated WebRTC video and voice chat, backed by a Node.js server stack deployed on AWS. It's the same simulation-and-tracking engineering discipline described above, applied to a live multiplayer environment rather than a single-user course module, built by a two-person team covering solution architecture, backend, WebRTC integration, and 3D level assembly.

Tracking and Integration

We can integrate training products with Moodle, Canvas, or a bespoke learning platform using SCORM, xAPI, LTI, or custom API work where required. Tracking should match the learning goal, whether that is completion, scoring, decision history, attempts, time on task, or a practical performance measure.

Agree what completion means

A training brief should identify the learner, the decisions they practise, who approves the subject content and what the reporting system needs to receive. For a tracked package, acceptance includes a fresh attempt, an interrupted attempt, resume behaviour, score calculation and completion recorded in the target LMS or LRS.
